Information collected on this website

What you give us

When you book a Growth Opportunity Review, request a Growth Opportunity Audit, or use the contact form, we ask for your name, business name, email address, phone number, website address and a short description of what you need. We use it to reply, to prepare for the conversation you asked for, and to keep a record of that enquiry. The details are emailed to our team and stored in our customer record system.

What is collected automatically

We use Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager to understand how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and which actions are taken. This data is aggregated and does not identify you by name. Our hosting provider, Vercel, records standard server logs, such as IP address, browser type and the time of each request, to keep the site running and secure.

Cookies

Analytics cookies set by Google are the only non-essential cookies on this site. You can block them in your browser settings or with Google's opt-out tools without affecting the site.

Information handled in our client work

Lime runs internal platforms to manage client accounts, track search performance and plan outreach. These tools are used only by Lime staff. They hold business contact details of the people we work with and of businesses we research, the performance data of client websites, and notes about the work we do for each client.

Google account connections

With a client's permission, our reporting platform connects to that client's Google Search Console and Google Analytics properties using Google sign-in. When a client or a Lime team member approves that connection, Google gives us a token that lets the platform read, for the connected property only, search queries, pages, clicks, impressions, positions, sessions and conversion counts. We do not request access to anything else in the Google account, and we never see the account password.

We use that data for one purpose: reporting and advising on the client's own search and website performance. We store a copy in our own database so reports keep working when Google is slow or a connection expires. We do not sell it, use it for advertising, share it with anyone outside Lime and the client it belongs to, or use it to train machine-learning models. A client can disconnect a property from inside the platform at any time, or revoke Lime's access from their Google account permissions page, and we delete the stored data on request.

Lime's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Who we share information with

We share personal information only with the service providers that run our systems, and only as far as they need it to do that. They are:

  • Vercel, which hosts this website and our internal tools.
  • Supabase and Cloudflare, which host the databases and sign-in for our internal tools.
  • Google, for Analytics, Tag Manager, and the Search Console and Analytics data described above.
  • Microsoft 365 and Resend, which deliver our email.
  • Data providers we use for public search and business-listing data, which receive a website address or search term and never your personal details.

We do not sell personal information. We disclose it beyond this list only when the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiry details stay in our customer record system for as long as there is a working relationship or a realistic prospect of one, then for up to three years so we can answer questions about earlier conversations. Client performance data is kept for the length of the engagement and deleted within 90 days of the engagement ending, unless the client asks for it sooner. Server and analytics logs are kept on the providers' default schedules, which are measured in months, not years.

How we protect it

Our internal tools are sign-in only, restricted to named Lime staff, and use one-time email links rather than shared passwords. Data is encrypted in transit. Access tokens for Google properties are stored server-side and never sent to a browser. Access is removed the day a team member leaves.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@limeadvertising.com and we will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Changes to this policy

When we change this page, we update the dates at the top and note what changed here. Material changes to how we handle Google account data are also sent to the clients whose properties are connected.
