About Merry Maids
Merry Maids Canada is a nationwide network of individual cleaning franchises that offer premium home cleaning services to give people more free time in an increasingly busy world. It’s an affordable luxury that Canadians can add to their lives to make every day a little easier.
The Challenge
Merry Maids Canada came to Lime Advertising to address staffing shortfalls following the COVID-19 pandemic. Caught by surprise, the demand from Merry Maids Canada’s consumers was higher than they were able to service. Unfortunately, this resulted in Merry Maids Canada turning business away. A lack of willingness to go to work while receiving Canadian government subsidies contributed to a debilitating staff shortage.
The main objective was to enable Merry Maids Canada to recruit more cleaning staff to fulfill increased cleaning needs now that homeowners feel more comfortable letting people into their homes again. This would help the company retain more customers and allow them to service new customers too.
The Solution
The first phase of the Merry Maids Canada hiring campaign utilized link click advertisements on Facebook and Instagram. Ads were shown to social media users 1,232,828 times, with a cost per mile (per 1,000 impressions) of $3.81 and an average cost per click of $0.39. There is a range of 400 – 1,500 clicks per franchise. This outperformed expectations.
The subsequent phases of the Merry Maids hiring campaign used Facebook job ads and Indeed job ads. These operated at a higher cost across every key metric, however they enabled us to make the application process more intuitive for the applicant and allowed us to optimize the application process for conversions.
